Midwest Music Marketplace Presents The Record Show at The Event Center In Rivers Casino, Des Plaines, Illinois
Premiere Event: Sunday, October 5th, 2025
Six foot tables are $40 each – tables and chairs provided.
Let’s do something big, fun, and profitable – for all of us.
Collector shows aren’t dead or struggling. Baseball card shows are huge now. There are coin shows, stamp shows, pop culture shows, comic book shows, gun shows, even fornicating porn and tattoo conventions. All of which have local, regional, national and international shows that dwarf record shows. Baseball cards, coins, and guns are old formats, but their shows rock. Our industry doesn’t. Not even the big guys anymore.
But big shows, done right, require big support. And yes! Rivers Casino is a partner in this show (not just allowing us to use the space). Rivers is the classiest casino in Illinois and it is NOT putting on a flea market or pop-up bar event. We have the template, the contacts and the backing to make this huge. This is not another basic show in a saturated market. This will be a destination event.
As we have been experimenting with over the past few years, our goal is to get casual music fans to come to their first record show. The untapped market is massive. Even through a bad economy we have found new buyers at our disparate shows. And we found that the new customers appreciate quality dealers over quantity. We are not the biggest yet. But we will be the best. Our goal is not the most tables sold, but the most customers through the door, with the most spending per table. Bring plenty of inventory and don’t worry about shoplifters. Casino security is the best. Rivers will get us the whales and collectors. We will get the masses. Everyone will make money.
Midwest Music Marketplace and Rivers Casino are all-in but require your support. Dealers who get in on the ground floor to support the first show will be glad they did. Not only for the terrific sales, but you will have first opportunity to book tables at future events. You will have bragging rights and legacy status.
October 5th in Des Plaines, Illinois.
