A Halloween Playlist to revel in the spooky season

Halloween Playlist

The day is almost or already here! You need a Halloween Playlist to get into the spirit of the season. We’re not ready for jingle bells, so we’ll be playing these tracks long into November.

Last week we discussed the top horror movie soundtracks. A nice, long playing soundtrack is great to move you through your day, but it is often background. To really enjoy this holiday, you need a playlist. We are proud to present to you our first annual Halloween playlist. Listen to it here on Spotify Halloween 2023 by Midwest Music Marketplace

2023 Halloween

  1. ‘This is Halloween’ from ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’

  6. ‘I Put a Spell on You’ by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins
  7. ‘Superstition’ by Stevie Wonder
  8. ‘Thriller’ by Michael Jackson
  9. ‘Dead Man’s Party’ by Oingo Boingo
  10. ‘Season of the Witch’ by Donovan

  14. ‘Ghostbusters’ by Ray Parker Jr.
  15. ‘Werewolves of London’ by Warren Zevon
  16. ‘Time Warp’ from “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”
  17. ‘The Black Widow’ by Alice Cooper
  18. ‘Addams Family Theme’ by HeathisHuman
  19. ‘Goo Goo Muck’ by The Cramps

We start with the obvious ‘This is Halloween’ to focus on the objective. Also, it is easy to skip the first song. Then pay homage to the classic sounds of the season with the main theme from the most popular horror soundtrack. Tracks three, four and five bop along for kids young and old. Tracks six through twelve are songs from the radio across a few decades. ‘Jump in the Line’ starts the movie section at track thirteen. It isn’t really Halloween, but it was fantastic in ‘Beetlejuice’. Alice Cooper could probably have his very own list, but we’re using his ‘Muppet Show’ song to start the TV section. And we had to end with a dance song from ‘Wednesday’.

Which one is your favorite? Did we miss something? Help us plan next year’s list!
